Waterford and the South East will receive a boost with a new MRI unit soon to open at University Hospital Waterford. Supplied by Siemens, the state-of-the-art MAGNETOM Sola is far more advanced in both speed and the quality of the scans it produces. Its installation follows a comprehensive refurbishment of the ward by DFL, including the introduction of a new RF cabin and significant upgrades to essential services such as new AHU & Chiller plant rooms and all associated plant and services. The project, designed by RKD Architects and Varmings Services Consultants with engineering and cost consultation by Malone O’Regan, heralds a positive development for health care in the region so well done to all involved from the HSE.
